Formed in 2006, Alert the Medic includes Ryan MacDonald on vocals and playing guitar, Matt Campbell playing bass, Dale Wilson on drums and Troy Arseneault on electric guitar. With three out of four of the members being originally from Pictou County it’s no wonder we love this band!

Having opened for Our Lady Peace, and nominated for two East Coast Music Awards in 2008 after releasing their first album, as followup in 2009 Alert the Medic made a gutsy move and made their way to Toronto where they not only decided to settle but recorded their second album. “We, the Weapon” was nominated for another two East Coast Music Awards in 2010 and in 2011 the band was nominated for Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year. Singles from “We, the Weapon” were used for episodes of the TV show Rookie Blue.

With the brand new release of their third album “The Phantom Moves,” Alert the Medic has appeared on the Marilyn Denis Show and are gearing up for their busiest year yet. Their high-energy shows make them a festival favourite and their fan base has proven to be very loyal.

Producer Mike Turner, who is the guitar player for Our Lady Peace and Crash Karma, recorded “The Phantom Moves” in Toronto at The Pocket Studios. This album fills us full of infectious rock melodies that we have come to know and love from Alert the Medic but it also shows the listener a more refined sound that can only come with a band that has successfully done what very few bands are able to do, and that is stick it out and stay together.

Their longevity can be heard as this inspired album is enjoyed and this only happens with bands that have been able to tough it out and still manage to deliver a clever, fresh and true sound that has become known as Alert the Medic.
