Canadian folk music duo Ash and Bloom, Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal, are going anywhere and everywhere for their latest tour, including Pictou.
After touring North America and putting out an EP and full-length CD all within this past year, Ash and Bloom, Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal, a Canadian folk music duo, are heading back out on the road for their Anywhere and Everywhere tour. They’ll visit Pictou on June 11.
Ash and Bloom have spent years perfecting their songs and they have finally starting releasing them a bit at a time.
They began with their self-titled EP, released in November 2013, featuring ballad “Let The Storm Come.”
Their next release is scheduled for June 24 and is a full-length album, which will feature songs co-written by some of Canada’s greats: Peter Katz, Caroline Brooks (The Good Lovelies), Julie Crochietere and Rob Szabo.
The duo is hot off the heels of The Vehicle of Change Tour featuring headliner Justin Hines. The North American tour featured over 80 stops in three months, travelling over 20,000 kilometers.
One hundred per cent of ticket sales from each show went back to local charities.
They play Pictou United Church on June 11.
The show will also feature Niki Veniot.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.
