Juno Award winner Meaghan Smith will be this week’s feature in Fleur’s Find, with the release of her new album “Have a Heart.” Smith’s new album maintains her vintage style and charisma while simultaneously showing off a new side of Smith. This new, bold and pop culture feel is clearly evident in the first single, “Have a Heart,” which has already become one of the most added songs at Canadian radio. This new direction and success is no surprise considering her producer’s previous work includes albums for Annie Lennox, Ellie Goulding and One Direction. This time around, Smith also tried her hand at writing and co-wrote many of the songs on the album.

Smith maintained her writing style with this album while continuing to draw upon her own life experiences of love, heartbreak and relationships when writing her own lyrics. This becomes evident while listening to each song as you can hear the lyrics are full of honesty, personality and pragmatism. The result is an 11-track album that elegantly changes her musical direction from her debut album “The Crickets Orchestra” coffeehouse vibe in favour of a much more diverse approach.

“Have a Heart” has brought massive critical acclaim Smith’s direction and landed her several appearances on TV, including Canada AM where she performed “Have a Heart.” She also appeared as a guest on The Marilyn Denis show where she performed the song “Mirror” and her song “Friends Like You” is featured on the Global Television show “Working The Engels.”
