AMSTERDAM - Royal KPN NV, the biggest Dutch telecoms company, has reported a 26 per cent rise in net profit for the second quarter thanks to cost cutting measures.
The company announced Tuesday that net profit for the quarter rose to €465 million (US$601 million) from €370 million a year earlier.
Revenue slipped by 1.7 per cent to €3.35 billion from €3.41 billion 12 months ago.
CEO Ad Scheepbouwer says he is "satisfied with KPN's performance" and that the company remains confident of reaching its full-year earnings forecasts.
