WESTVILLE - Two thousand Nova Scotia Power customers in the Westville and Stellarton areas were without power for part of Thursday afternoon.
Nova Scotia Power spokeswoman Jennifer Parker said a passing commercial truck snagged a power line on Drummond Road and pulled it down around 1 p.m.
"Fortunately we were able to bring the power back on in about an hour," she said.
Westville Fire Department responded to the call as well and secured the scene.
A neighbour said it was a passing wood truck that caught the line and ripped it down along with the power hook up from a nearby vacant house.
He added that phone or cable lines have been taken down by trucks on at least three occasions that he could think of.
Shortly after Nova Scotia Power repair crews arrived on site three tractor-trailer flatbed trucks loaded with lumber from a nearby mill passed through the same area.
