Broken branches cause power outage on west side of New Glasgow

Heavy rains are being blamed for a power outage on the west side of New Glasgow. The rain caused tree branches along Duff Street to break, tearing down live electrical wires. Power on the west side of New Glasgow, stretching as far as Munroe Avenue, had to be cut while repairs are being made. New Glasgow Firefighters responded to the scene, where the wires sparked and arced, igniting a small fire in the trees.
