PICTOU - When 34 wind turbines on Dalhousie Mountain came online Monday morning wind energy production in the province nearly doubled.
Pictou County councillor David Parker said the newly erected 51 MW wind farm, spearheaded by RMSenergy Ltd. and Stantec Consultants Ltd., is the largest construction project in Pictou County since Michelin tire was built.
Parker said once Shear Wind's Glen-Dhu Power-Wind Project is completed in the southern portion of the county near Barneys River Station, Pictou County will be the first county in the province to produce enough power to off-set the needs of its residents.
