Coats for Kids looking for donations at Sydney parade


SYDNEY — Coats will again be collected to assist the less fortunate during Saturday's Santa Clus parade in Sydney.

Coats for Kids has taken place in Sydney for more than a decade, growing form receiving 50 coats in its first year to as many as close to 1,800.

The coats are delivered free of charge to groups such as the Every Woman's Centre, food banks and church groups throughout the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

The parade route begins on Dorchester Street, the turns left onto Charlotte Street, along Charlotte to Townsend Street, along Townsend to George Street,

along George to Prince Street, right onto Prince to Disco Street, along Disco to

Victoria Road, along Victoria Road to James Street and ending at the

Whitney Pier Mosque (formerly Holy Redeemer Parish Centre) parking lot.
