Sean Robertson accepts his winnings from Summer Street Industries employee Allister MacLean. Robertson won the Kin Cash during a recent Kinsmen bingo game.
We have had an exciting start to the new Kin year with our Thursday night bingo on Eastlink TV. On Oct. 3, the Kin Cash was won and what a great win for Sean Robertson - he collected a cheque for $15,000!
For those who may not know how the Kin Cash games are played; we draw a Kin Cash ball at the start of the evening and if you win any of the Kin Cash games with that number you win the game prize and the Kin Cash amount as well. The Kin Cash games are games two, three and five and there are three other games with great prizes including a building jackpots, Letter "K" and postage stamps.
Starting with the Thursday, Oct. 17 game we are presenting a special twist to the Kin Cash games - two Kin Cash balls! And if the Kin Cash prize of $5,000 doesn't go, then the following weeks three Kin Cash balls, and so on. If it hasn't been won by five Kin Cash balls we will play off the $5,000.
Bingo booklets are available at most retailers around Pictou County; so tune in Thursdays at 6 p.m. on Eastlink TV and join the fun.
The annual Kinsmen Hockey Buy and Sell was held over several weekends in September at the Highland Square Mall. This is a free service of our club each year to allow people with excess hockey skates and equipment to offer them for sale at no cost to them. People simply drop off the equipment, set a price and if it sells then you get all the money. Hundreds of families were able to find great deals on hockey stuff and hundreds were able to divest themselves of unneeded equipment. If you missed it this year, look for it again next September.
The Kinettes' fabulously popular Trivia Night is occurring Friday, Oct. 18 hosted by East Coast FM's Anne MacGregor and Kinsmen Marcel Elliott and even more teams have signed up for this event.
Both Kinsmen and Kinette hall bingos are underway on Sundays and Wednesdays respectively at Summer Street Industries.
Finally, just a reminder that Kinsmen Power Skating is beginning again with registration on Sunday, Oct. 20 and lessons beginning the following Sunday. If you can't make registration you can sign your kids up at the Sunday program. Remember that the program is offered afternoons at the Wellness Centre. For more information, call Steve Dunbar at 695-2493 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
