The monthly meeting of Sir Frederick Banting Chapter IODE was held Oct. 2 at the home of Rita Knoester.
President Brenda Wark welcomed members and thanked the hostess. A minute of silence was held in memory of member Ann Hanes.
Prayer was offered in unison, 16 members answered roll call with 174 volunteer hours reported. Secretary Josie McInnis read the minutes from the previous meeting. Correspondence was read from the provincial chapter.
Treasurer Bev McGuigan gave a favourable report. Donations will continue for the Snak Pak and Dr. Crocher Fund.
Education officer Margie Fraser reported a donation sent to Labrador school. Services officer Clare MacDonnell noted 10 bags were delivered to Tearmann House. Shop convenor Rita Knoester gave a favourable report.
The next meeting will be held at the home of Claire MacDonnell. The Nearly New Shop located behind New Glasgow Fire Hall is open Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 1 to 3:30 p.m. New and good used clothing and items can be dropped off during these hours.
