WESTVILLE – The Dec. 8 service was led by Rev. Bonnie Wynn, who welcomed all present and gave the announcements. Greeting the congregation was Mary Kellock and her grandchildren, Jonathan and Emily Pyrovolos. The Christ Candle was lit by Dianne Hayman. The sung Introit was Emmanuel. Hymns sung during the service were Hope Is a Star, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel and On Jordan’s Bank.

The Advent Liturgy “Peace” was led by Lottie Stewart, who also lit the Advent Candle.

The scripture lessons read were from Isaiah II, Romans 15 and Matthew 3. Psalm 72 was read responsively. The scriptures were read by Rev. Wynn and Bob Pushie. The choir sang an Advent anthem. The collection was received by Mary Kellock, Sam and Lillian Myles and Joan Watters.

Poinsettias were placed in the sanctuary in memory of John MacKenzie, Clarence Watters, Alice Baillie, Morris and Lois Wynn, Ella and Art Whooten, Lauchie and Mabel Johnson and Tom and Margaret MacKinnon.

Donations to the general fund were given in memory of Mary Daley, John McLean and George and Peter Brimicombe.

White Gift Sunday will have proceeds going to Scott Jones.

The service closed with the singing of Go Now in Peace. Next Sunday service will be held at 11:15. All are welcome to attend.
