Ed Weir of Seaside Wireless Communications presented a cheque for $2,894 to Sherbrooke & Area Volunteer Fire Department, as part of Seaside's Volunteer Fire Department Support Project. The donation included $2,000 from Seaside, $750 from Nova Scotia Power, and a contribution from Nice Little Phonebook Publishers. Pictured (l to r, front row): Left to Right; Firefighter Nick Cameron, Firefighter Scott MacDonald, Mr. Weir, Chief John Cameron, Firefighter Stephen Greene, and Firefighter Mark Wannamaker. Seaside's Volunteer Fire Department Support Project provided cash grants to 19 volunteer fire departments in Northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton, funded by Seaside, Nova Scotia Power, and participating municipalities. The project also provides free websites and web hosting for any Nova Scotia Fire Department, and where feasible, free high speed Internet and public wi-fi at fire halls in Seaside's territory.
