Lourdes CWL introduces new executive

The first meeting of the new year of Our Lady of Lourdes CWL was held on Feb. 5, beginning with a short Annual Meeting, followed by the general meeting. The new executive was introduced: President, Bernadette Kellock; Organization, Dorothy Cox; Secretary, Alma Kyle; Treasurer, Betsy Keay; Spiritual, Paula Cassidy; Christian Family Life, Lauretta  Landry; Community Life, Jean MacFarlane; Communications, Rose Moore.

Twenty-five members responded to roll call and two new members were welcomed.

Paula Cassidy and Marilyn Judge held a Valentine Prayer Service.

Alma Kyle read the correspondence including a letter from the Canadian Food for Children and a thank you note for a donation to the Friends of Honduran Children.

Seventy-nine members have paid their dues and will be sent to National.

Members served a ham dinner at the Shepherd's Lunch Room recently and a motion was passed to provide a meal twice a year.

New business included donations being sent to Save the Family Plan and Seminarians Annual Support.

CWL members will take part in the ministries at the 9 a.m. mass on March 2.

On March 6 members will lead in the Stations of the Cross.

World Day of Prayer will be held on March 7 at Christ the King Anglican Church in Stellarton. 

Mass of Chrism will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes on April 14 and the CWL will host a reception following at the Museum of Industry.

The next meeting will be held on March 3.
