Matt Andersen

Hailing from Perth-Andover, N.B., Matt Andersen plays over 200 shows a year. Having begun his career in 2002 with the New Brunswick band, Flat Top, Anderson is certainly no stranger to working hard. With seven albums to his name, and having over two million views on YouTube, it is truly no wonder that Matt Andersen has become a Canadian household name.

He is known for a command over his audience to take notice with his giant size on stage as well as the incredible sweat drench, powerhouse, performances that he has become famous for during each of his shows. Andersen has toured all over the world and because of this has developed a very loyal and fierce fan base. After just months of being signed to True North Records he has released an incredible album called "Weightless."

"Weightless" is full of solid songs that this blues singer has crafted himself with a little help from some of his friends and incredible Canadian talents such as Joel Plaskett, David Myles, and our very own Dave Gunning. What is very refreshing about this album is that each song has a different feel, and a different personality so it keeps the listener tuned in.

In 2010 Andersen won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. In 2012 he won three Maple Blues Awards and in 2013 he won the Euro Blues Award for Best Solo/Acoustic Act.  Matt Andersen may call his album "Weightless" but he is certainly a heavyweight as far as talent goes.
