President Nellie Bruton brought the March 3 meeting to order and asked all to stand and sing O’Canada. The senior’s prayer followed the heritage song. Members of the club welcomed Buddy Corbett to the meeting.
March birthday celebrants were Mary Morris and Marg Munro.
The minutes read by Mary Livingstone, were approved. Mary Morris presented the treasurer’s report.
Correspondence: The Heritage Club insurance bill was received and a motion to pay it made. A thank you card from Marilyn Lockhart was read.
Visitation: Sally Polley reported that she had completed the visits as usual.
Activities: All are going very well. Art class meets in the clubroom each Tuesday at 1 pm. There is room in this class for more members. Exercise classes put on by the town of Westville are held Mondays and Thursdays, and they are going great.
Members Bingo will be held Friday, March 21. Fun Day now starts at 1:30 pm. Next Fun Day is Monday, March the 17. The executive has given approval for a dance to be held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the club. If a member wishes to bring a non-member to the dance, the cost will be five dollars ($5.00) for that person.
Pictou County Seniors Council meeting takes place on Friday, March 14 in Trenton at noon.
Following the meeting, an enjoyable lunch was served. Westville Heritage Club meetings take place on the first Monday of each month at 2pm in the Heritage Room of the Westville Civic Building. All are welcome!
