A green theme welcomed the members of Our Lady of Lourdes CWL to the March meeting. St. Patrick's Day foods were enjoyed before the meeting began.
After President Bernadette Kellock welcomed everyone, Paula Cassidy led in a prayer service praising the Trinity.
Acting secretary Claire Taylor read the correspondence including a letter from our sponsored family in India and a thank you note from St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Treasurer Betsy Keay gave a favourable financial report.
Dorothy Cox reported that CWL kits were given to our two new members.
Activities for March include leading in the Stations of the Cross, participating in The World Day of Prayer, hosting a reception for a 90th birthday party and on March 29 attending the Lenten Retreat at St. John the Baptist church.
A discussion was held on visiting the sick in hospital and CWL members who are unable to attend meetings.
The president reported that plans are going well for the Provincial Convention that Lourdes is hosting on May 30 to June 1.
She also related the CWL are looking to purchase Glory and Praise hymn books for the church.
A motion was passed to send money to Uganda to purchase netting for children to prevent the spread of malaria.
Marie Benjamin won the St. Patrick's Day basket.
The meeting closed with prayer.
