The Pictou County Food Bank received cash and non-perishable food items from Investors Group consultants on Tuesday. The donations were received from a recent client appreciation event when local consultants accepted cash and non-perishable items for the food bank. Over the past decade, Investors Group consultants and their clients in the Atlantic region have given more than $500,000 to food banks. David Whittemore, fundraising co-chair of New Glasgow Academy Campaign, presents Dianna Visser with the winning prize from the Chase the Ace contest. Chase the Ace takes place very Sunday at the Aberdeen Centre Flea Market and tickets are sold from 10 a.m. to noon. The winning ticket holder has a chance to draw a card from the deck and if the ace of spades is drawn, that person wins the jackpot.  This week's Chase the Ace jackpot is expectd to be $3,400 and there 30 cards left in the deck.
