About a dozen people braved the cold weather on Sunday to hike a 3 km portion of the Fitzpatrick Mountain trail from Scotsburn Elementary to Stonehame Lodge. Leading the hike were Ken Fraser and Fran Wyman, board members from the Pictou County Trails Association. Sunday's hike was hosted by the Multicultural Association of Pictou County (MAPC) thanks to a wellness grant that they received from the Pictou County Health Authority (PCHA). Previous events hosted by MAPC have included sledding & snowshoeing, swimming, bowling and curling The goal of these activities are to promote both physical activity and mental health. The Multicultural Association of Pictou County will be organizing several more activities, once a month, from June until the end of the year. To find out more about upcoming activities, you can go to the MAPC website at www.multiculturalpc.ca and look under “events” or email info.MAPC@gmail.com.
