PICTOU - The Pictou Rotary will grace the stage at the deCoste once again with the musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.
The musical debuted on Broadway in 1961 and tells the story of J. Pierrepont Finch as he works his way of the corporate ladder at World Wide Wicket Company.
The production's director, Don Hill said he had read the musical years ago and caught his eye recently when it returned to Broadway in the mid-1990s and last year.
"Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter Fame did the lead role all last year, so it came to the forefront," said Hill.
"I think the music is very strong and the story too," he said. "It is from the same guys who wrote Guys and Dolls, which is one the most famous Broadway musicals.
"Anyone who has worked in an office environment will find there is something there that they can say, 'I know that person.' There are a lot of stereotypical characters in this piece."
Hill said they have gone on a new direction for set design for this production.
"We have very minimal sets, but we are relying heavily on lights," said Hill. "We have projections we are using in the wings. It's very much a colourful piece from a lighting point of view, it will be a new experience for our audience."
This year's production has 40 cast members, said Hill.
"We have a large amount of talented people from the community that always come out."
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying runs at the deCoste Centre March 29, 30 and 31. Shows start at 8 p.m.
