HALIFAX - The RCMP have tracked down a Newfoundland man charged with assault and failure to provide the necessities of life to a child.
Police say 34-year-old Glenn Budgell was arrested in Nova Scotia.
Investigators had said Budgell might head to Gander, N.L., or Grand Falls-Windsor, N.L. - communities where he used to live - but they also suggested he might head to Ontario or Nova Scotia.
The Mounties say arrangements are being made to send Budgell back to Newfoundland.
Police in Newfoundland charged Budgell after the province's Department of Child, Youth and Family Services found that a 5-year-old child had not been given needed medical attention.
The child was taken to hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor, but has since been transferred to the Janeway children's hospital in St. John's.
