Construction on the Northumberland Fisheries Museum is progressing with the crew working daily to put up the walls before the snowy weather hits the county. The new museum will be attached to both the lighthouse museum and the hatchery, but large doors will still allow people to use the boardwalk. It will house all of the exhibits currently on display at the museum at the CN station and more. The two-storey building will also have a kitchenette, meeting area and balcony upstairs that can be rented out or used for board meetings. The total cost of the project is estimated at $550,000. The museum is expected to be completed in a year.
