Fatal crash in Rocklin

UPDATED – MONDAY 2:08 P.M. – Twenty-year-old Candace Taylor Archibald of Middle Musquodoboit was the lone driver and occupant in a single vehicle fatal crash Sunday in Rocklin. RCMP released the name at about 2 p.m.

One person is dead following  a crash in on the Hwy 289 in Rocklin, Pictou County Sunday evening.

Last evening at approximately 5:20 p.m., Pictou County District RCMP responded to a call of a single vehicle collision on Gairloch Road in Rocklin. A 20-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed a vehicle believed to be traveling north bound on Gairloch Road lost control, rolled over and hit a telephone pole. No other vehicles or persons were involved in this incident. 

The road was closed while crews worked.

 

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation is ongoing.

    Candace, you were an amazing person. I am soo proud to say that I had the chance to meet, hang out, even date you in Jr. High. You will remain in my heart always and forever.     May you rest in peace beautiful girl! My heart goes out to the Archibald family at this truely horrible time. No parent should have to go threw losing a child but two only a year apart... As a parent I couldnt even fathom what they must be going threw. You are in my prayers and forever in my heart, Chad will take good care of you Candace I am sure.
