The nursery in the MacKay household will be sticking with party colours.
"It's a little boy," Central Nova MP Peter MacKay confirmed this morning. "Most important he's healthy."
He said was more concerned about counting fingers and toes during the ultrasound but was happy with the news.
"We're absolutely thrilled," he said.
He said all of the family was happy to hear it as well– although he admits his nieces were a bit disappointed they won't have a little girl to play with.
MacKay's wife Nazanin is expected to give birth mid-March. He said they aren't sure exactly where she will have the baby because it will depend on when Parliament is sitting.
"We have contingency plans," he said.
He said he is very excited that he will soon be a father though.
"I've got all I want for Christmas."
