HALIFAX - Halifax police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing male youth.

Hayden Mitchell, 15, was last seen on Friday, Jan. 11 leaving his Spencer Avenue home in Halifax at about 8 a.m., but police say he never arrived at school. He hasn’t returned home since, but contacted a friend through social media on Jan. 12.

He is described as about five-foot-three, 90 pounds, with a slim build, short blonde hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a red and black jacket, blue jeans, black boots and was carrying a black backpack.

“There is no evidence to suggest that Hayden has met with foul play but there is concern for his well-being,” a statement issued by Halifax Regional Police on Monday afternoon states. “Officers request that Hayden or anyone with information on his whereabouts calls police at 490-5016.”
