The students have spoken. Pending school board approval, the new school colours for the P-8 school that's going to be built in New Glasgow will be emerald green, royal blue and white. The mascott will be the panther.
Ballots are currently being counted for the name of the school.
Students from A.G. Baillie, Acadia Street, Temperance Street and Grade 7 students all had the opportunity to submit their choice as well as parents who attended parent teacher at the schools.
Choices for the names that the school could be called are: East River Education Centre, Celtic Consolidated School, New Glasgow Consolidated School, New Glasgow United Community School and Henderson Paris Community School.
The school board will have the final say on any decision however.
