$375 K worth of bath salts seized

$375,000 worth of bath salts has been seized in Lyons Brook as well as $5,000 of marijuana.

The Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, along with the assistance of the Pictou County RCMP, arrested two people in the case after an ongoing drug investigation.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday an adult male, Jordan Stewart, age 22 from Lyons Brook, was arrested after a vehicle stop was conducted in Lyons Brook and a quantity of cannabis marijuana was found within the vehicle.

Police then executed a CDSA Search Warrant upon a residence in Lyons Brook, Nova Scotia where an adult female (age 20 from Pictou) was arrested. During a search of the residence, officers located approximately six pounds of MDPV a substance believed to be methylenedioxypyrovalerone (known as bath salts) and a quantity of cannabis marijuana and a small quantity of cannabis resin.

The substance suspected to be MDPV will be sent to Health Canada for analysis and confirmation.

Charges stemming from this investigation include:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methyenedioxypyrovalerone

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana

Possession of Cannabis Resin

The adult female was released from custody and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on March 25th, 2013. Stewart has been released on recognizance with strict conditions.

    If they really wanted to clean the streets they should start with the politicians, then move to the police department, and then end drug prohibition. FTFY
