PICTOU – A 22-year-old Lyons Brook man will return to court next month on charges related to one of the largest bath salt seizures in Canada.
Jordan Fergus Stewart is expected to enter a plea on Feb. 11 in Pictou Provincial Court after being arrested Thursday in a drug bust that resulted in the seizure of six pounds of bath salts and a small amount of cannabis marijuana.
He is charged with possession of the purpose of trafficking methylenedioxypyrovalerone, possession of cannabis marijuana and possession of cannabis resin.
On Wednesday, at 8 p.m., an adult male was arrested after a vehicle stop was conducted in Lyons Brook and a quantity of marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Police then executed a CDSA search warrant at the man’s home where an adult female was arrested. During a search of the residence, officers located about six pounds of a substance believed to be methylenedioxypyrovalerone, a quantity of marijuana and small quantity of cannabis resin.
An adult female was also charge in connection with the investigation by the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit. She will have her first court appearance on March 25.
Stewart was released on a court recognizance Thursday.
