THE NEWS STELLARTON – Residents in the area of Poplar Street and High Street Extension in Stellarton were left without water as a public works crew worked to repair a major leak in one of the town’s transmission lines.
The crew started digging in the morning to repair the damage and by mid-afternoon foreman Ed Stewart was still speculating that they’d be hours more.
Water could be seen pouring down Poplar Street where it was building up ice in nearby yards.
The crew used a pump to keep water out of the hole while they worked.
