Anyone who travels to New Brunswick daily for employment, school, etc.... knows that as soon as you reach the NS boarder into Amherst and beyond, what a joke our NS transportation is compared to NB's. Just like night and day. I always wonder where they all are......apparently saving the govt money. And don't get me started on that Cobequid Pass disaster of highway!!!! I expect to have round the clock service on that section of highway, if I have to pay $8.00 for a round trip through there. I pay my money and then pray for my life on that section of the mountain top death trap of a highway. How many times have I sat at the toll station getting enough courage to travel the rest of the way... Many, many times.

So you want huge trucks to drive around before it snows, burning tons of fuel that our tax dollars pay for? Road conditions change quickly up there and no one knows exactly when it's going to snow. They do the best they can. If you have a problem with it....walk.

I think that the salt truck operators should be on the road before the pass turns into such a mess instead of setting in the shop telling stories, drinking tims,ect.--- just saying. jim.

I agree. Salt trucks should be out there. Yep we pay taxes...so let's get something out of the money we pay. Better than having our families and children killed because of slippery roads. Hmmmm...money...or human life....I wonderrrr......

I agree with Jim brown, it's not like this weather was a surprise. Salt trucks should have been out before the roads ended up the way they were and maybe people might not have died. Time and time again I see these trucks going up and the roads on a sunny day but don't see them during a storm. I don't fault the drivers, they are just doing what they are told, but management on the other hand should know better. There is no excused for the roads today, this weather was well predicted in advance.
