NEW GLASGOW - Kids from A.G. Baillie and the Acadia Street School faced off for charity in a game of broomball on Feb. 2 at the JBM Stadium.

The game was a prelude to the adult game that occured later that night that saw the West and North end Recreation centres compete for a $1000 prize at the North End Recreation Centre Outdoor Rink.

Broom ball, an alternative game to hockey, is being played in the children's gym classes along with other traditional sports.

This was the first opportunity for the kids to get on the ice with the ball and their brooms.
