A winter storm warning is in effect for Pictou County today.

There is a winter storm warning in effect for Pictou County today with 20-40 centimetres of snow expected today and tomorrow.

Environment Canada predicts that periods of snow will start this morning with amounts of 5 to 10 cm. Tonight with will continue to snow, at times heavy, with a risk of freezing rain late this evening and overnight. Snowfall amount 10 to 20 cm.

Monday the precipitation will continue with snow at times heavy ending late in the afternoon then cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Risk of freezing rain early in the morning. Snowfall amount 10 to 20 cm. Blowing snow in the afternoon and evening.
