9:00 Well, that's all for this AM folks, but stay with us as we gather more news on what's been cancelled, postponed or is still happening as we move into this blustery weekend. Take care, be safe on the roads if you have to travel and stay warm.
We'll have a up-to-the-minute update of cancellations in the area going on our site in a moment.
8:30: Yesterday was the last day of the Nova Forge. Feel free to send along your thoughts on this.
7:55: Tomorrow's weather isn't looking good, which means events will inevitably be cancelled. Check in to our website to relay this information to us. Give me a call at 928-3510, e-mail john.brannen@ngnews.ca or tweet me @NGNewsJohn.
7:55: Another great comment from Robert MacDonald "I have a 9year old daughter who was diagnnosed at 14 months of age with type 1 diabetes. Her life and mine as one of her parents was dramatically changed when she went on an insulin pump. However unfunded pump supplies are expensive and are creating extreme financial difficulties for myself and my wife since we both are on low fixed income.Others need help as we did to obtain an insulin pump and thier supplies. Our elected government officials need to recognize this and help us to give our children the right to a healthy life by covering these expenses for our children as other Canadian provinces have already recognized this as a valid need."
That was a comment on our story Province needs to fund insulin pumps for children. Thanks a lot for that personal story, Robert.
7:45: One comment on our 'Winter storm predicted for this weekend' said, "you know we wont get it.... it called for it last time. and we didnt get it :( we got snow but it wasnt as bad as they said'' its probably going to turn to rain again... we never get what is called for... some tomorrow or sat, it will change.. usually does//"
Just a note that the winter storm warning for Pictou County has been upgraded to a Blizzard Warning
