Weeks Major Midgets reschedule playoff games

NEW GLASGOW – The Weeks Major Midgets hockey team have rescheduled their playoff games planned for this weekend against the Halifax Titans. The games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday have now been moved to Monday and Tuesday nights.

Monday night the puck drop is 7:45 p.m., while Tuesday night the game will start at 7 p.m. Through the first two games of the best-of-seven playoff series the Weeks Major Midgets are down 0-2.

Darryl Wheadon leads the team in playoff scoring so far with one goal and three points.

North Nova hockey tournament cancelled

TRENTON – The North Nova girls hockey tournament scheduled for this weekend in Trenton has been cancelled. Organizers said with poor weather expected for the weekend an a number of teams coming from far away that it was best to cancel the tournament.

A new weekend will be selected for the tournament in the coming weeks.
