Carvers Coffee House

PICTOU – Brent Minshull, Owner of Carvers Coffee House and Studio in downtown Pictou, invited his female patrons to enjoy coffee on the house in honour of Valentine's Day. What the women didn’t expect was a visit from a barbershop quartet.

As four men dressed in red and white attire with bowties walked in the room, the ladies immediately knew what was happening and started laughing and clapping.

Minshull hired the quartet to sing a selection of songs for his customers and to give out chocolate roses.

“I saw the fellows in The News and gave them a call. When I spoke to them, I told them they could sing to about 18 women in one shot,” Minshull said, adding that this is the first time he has done this for his customers on Valentine's Day.

“I thought, ‘we’ll have some fun with it.’ It’s for my patrons and it’s my little way of saying thanks,” he said.
