8:41 a.m. A water commission which formed as a result of water quality concerns in Stellarton will meet today at 3 p.m. at the town hall.
8:23 a.m. Just heard that the victim in Friday's crash in James River was human rights activist Pat Skinner. The accident happened at 12:50 p.m. last Friday in James River near exit 30. Skinner's Volvo S60 collided into an Honda CRV that was travelling on Highway 104. She died at the scene.
8 a.m. So the Pictou County Scotians wrapped up their regular season in second place in the Sid Rowe division. Read about it here. What an improvement over last year when they finished the regular season in last place with just 8 game points.

7:45 a.m. The preliminary inquiry for Chris Falconer who is accused of murdering Amber Kirwan is continuing again this afternoon in Pictou. Cpl. Trevor Penny will be the witness resuming the stand. 7:20 a.m. As mentioned schools are closed today. Environment Canada has two weather warnings in effect right now. One for wind and one for blowing snow.
