Man charged with stunting in Kemptown

KEMPTOWN – An Antigonish man is facing a fine of more than $2,400 if convicted of a charge of stunting that was laid on Monday.

The RCMP’s Northern Traffic Services was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 104 in Kemptown and observed a vehicle travelling at 171 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The 32-year-old man was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for stunting, which carries a fine of $2,412.41 if convicted. The man was immediately suspended from driving for seven days.

If convicted, six points will be assigned to the driver’s record.
