PICTOU COUNTY – There’s no better way to start the day than being up to date on what’s happing in Pictou County and the world as you enjoy your first cup of coffee or tea.

We invite you to have your first cup with The News’ reporter John Brannen as he gathers all the latest in news, weather, cancellations and police updates in Pictou County and beyond.

First Cup with John is a great way to share what’s happening wherever you are in the county not only directly on our website, but through various social media sites such as Twitter and YouTube as well.

Just go to The News’ website (www.ngnews.ca) Monday to Friday from 7 to 9 a.m. to see up to the minute posts, pictures and stories from the newsroom’s staff and people like you.

If you’re active in the Twitterverse, use the hashtag #pictoucounty or #firstcup

Since we use ‘Cover it Live’ you can join the discussion by sharing your pictures and comments. You don’t even need to sign-up or login; just write, click post and our conversation starts.

Join ‘First Cup with John’ as you enjoy your first cup and start your morning off right and fully informed.
