Men face range of charges in alleged home invasion

PICTOU – Two Pictou County men accused of a committing a home invasion in Trenton earlier this week will return to provincial court next month.

Robert Douglas MacInnis, 25, of Little Egypt Road has been charged with possessing a molotov cocktail for the purpose of committing the offence of arson, mischief by willfully damaging a 2001 Dodge Caravan valued at less than $5,000, break and enter with the intent to commit mischief and damage to property involving a laptop computer valued at less than $5,000.

The charges were laid in connection with an alleged home invasion on Grandview Avenue, Trenton, on March 4. Police say four males went to the household and two men forced their way into the residence and threatened the two lone occupants inside.  

Two men were arrested and taken into police custody Tuesday. They made their first court appearance Wednesday and were released on strict conditions until their next court dates.

MacInnis will return to court April 22 while Micah Scott Jacob Osborne, 23, of Woodburn will return on April 2 on charges of break and enter with the intent to commit mischief.
