Linacy Greens will not open this spring.

“We regret to announce that Linacy Greens Golf Club will not be opening for the 2013 season, we would like to thank everyone for their patronage over the years and apologize for any inconvenience this will cause,” a message on their website says.

Attempts to reach anyone at the course were unsuccessful.

The 18-hole course was owned by Romeo Roy, who built the course 16 years ago. He said last year in an interview with The News that he wanted to sell the course. He said then he had been having health issues.

Since he started, he estimated he invested $4 million into the business which would employ about 20 people each summer.
