The operational services committee recommended to the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board at its meeting Wednesday that it receive identification reports for 12 schools for the board to consider for a school review process.

Pictou County schools included in that list were Highland Consolidated Middle School, Thorburn Consolidated, Trenton Elementary and Trenton Middle School.  The board passed the motion to receive the identification reports for these schools for information purposes. The Education Act mandates the school review process take place when a board is considering closing a school.

Well if this isn't a hint to Mr Parker and his government that this school board is out of control then I don't know what is! Not once in all the cuts this board has made has there been any amount of cuts to the administration. They just voted to close 4 schools and I might add yes some of them are on a "delayed closure" but they have to take another vote to recsind the closure, so really do you see in 2 years of more cost increases that any amount of money these schools make is going to change this boards mind. I think that it is very unlikely. I attended all the review meetings and let me tell you all those board members had their minds made up long before they had a vote. An administrative assistant up there makes a starting wage of OVER 14.50!!! So we can all imagine what the ones in the offices make. Every small school in this district is in danger so if you want your children to remain in their own school then we better start speaking to this government now!!!!!!
