Medalists have been announced for the Nova Scotia Skills competition which was held at the Nova Scotia Community College campus in Stellarton earlier this week and some local competitors are at the top of the list.
Every spring, Skills Canada – Nova Scotia presents this Olympic-style competition which brings together students and apprentices from across the province to compete in their chosen skilled trades and technologies. Bronze, silver and gold are awarded to the top competitors, with most gold medalists advancing to the Skills Canada National Competition, which will be taking place in Vancouver.
About 300 Nova Scotia Community College students take part in the provincial competition.
Students from the Pictou Campus won gold in CNC Machining, Electronics and Plumbing as well as numerous medals in other areas.
