Starting today and continuing for the next 13 weeks, The News is offering people in Pictou County the chance to win a 2013 Dodge Dart valued at $26,000.
“This is the biggest contest we’ve ever held and we’re excited to be able to offer it to our community,” Publisher Richard Russell said.
In addition to the one lucky person who will win a 2013 Dodge Dart from Atlantic Dodge, over the 13 weeks of this contest, entrants have a chance to win weekly draws for “Merchant Money” redeemable at participating local advertisers.
To be eligible to be entered in the Grand Prize draw in The News’ Crossword/Car Giveaway Contest, contestants simply submit the official entry ballot and the correctly completed puzzle by noon on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
On July 24, The News will draw names of 10 finalists. The News will confirm if the finalists are subscribers. Each of the finalists who is a subscriber to The News as of July 18, 2013, will receive five ballots for the grand prize draw. Non-subscribers as of July 18 will receive one ballot for the Dart, which will be presented at the New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee.
Contestants are not required to be a current subscriber to The News in order to win the grand prize, but there are benefits to being a subscriber, said Circulation Manager Paul MacDonald.
“Not only will subscribers have a better chance of winning the grand prize, but they’ll also earn double the Merchant Money that’s being drawn for each week,” MacDonald said.
To enter the contest participants fill out a crossword, which can be found every Thursday and submit the entry form by dropping it off at The News office or by mailing it to The News Crossword Contest, P.O. Box 159, 352 East River Road, New Glasgow, NS B2H 5E2.
Participants can check out the prize car at The News office. It will also be on display at some of the participating local businesses over the course of the contest.
“We encourage anyone who would like to see the car or learn more about the contest to stop by and see us,” said Newsroom Manager Adam MacInnis.
