PICTOU – On the heels of their most exciting of the last 20 years, The Irish Rovers will be coming to Pictou in October – to say farewell.

Over the years, The Irish Rovers have become cherished Canadian music icons, touched three generations of music lovers and brought Ireland into the living rooms of North America with their three television series and specials that span over 20 years. Now as they approach 50 years of touring, the Rovers announce "Farewell To Rovin’.”

Since their last visit to Nova Scotia, The Irish Rovers have made international headlines, were featured in a Canadian documentary, and are again enjoying radio airplay, all due to their latest album, Drunken Sailor, and single, The Titanic. On their recent sold-out concert tour they garnered rave reviews, attracted the attention of a new younger audience, and were touted in the press as “Internet sensations” for their multi-million YouTube fans, revamping their website, uploading more videos to YouTube and becoming active on Facebook and Twitter.

Their Christmas television special will be broadcast in December.

Tickets are $44.50 and available at the deCoste box office or decostecentre.ca. The Irish Rovers will perform at the deCoste on Oct. 18.

Geographic location: Ireland, North America, Nova Scotia
