PICTOU – With just two weeks remaining in the Summer Sounds series at the deCoste Centre, this week Jimmy Sweeney will take the stage as the host.
Sweeney is a popular Irish artist with citizenship and musical careers on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. His lively emceeing, storytelling and songs have been a favourite of Summer Sounds audiences for years.
As musical host this week he welcomes Ardyth and Jennifer and the traditional music duo of Gordon Tucker and Laura Watson. Ardyth and Jennifer are a unique and popular Nova Scotia duo, both playing full size harps on stage and performing original and traditional songs. The sound of two harps being played in unison, is a musical experience you shouldn’t miss.
Tucker is an accomplished singer songwriter in his own right, but this week is accompanying Watson. This group has been performing together since she was seven-years-old. The duo plays a lively mix of bluegrass, jazz, folk and traditional fiddle music.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for students.
