PICTOU – A county councilor is asking RCMP to play close attention to a new sheet of pavement in his area.
Coun. Andy Thompson said he is concerned the speed of traffic travelling along the Plymouth Road will increase once the sewer work is complete and the road is repaved. Thompson said a new 35-home subdivision is expected to be built in the Plymouth area which will also increase traffic flow.
“After dark, they run that road like crazy so after it gets paved, it will get worse,”he told council during a recent property services meeting.
He suggested council write the Department of Infrastructure and the local MLA asking that passing lanes be eliminated on the Plymouth Road from Blue Acres to Plymouth Park Road.
Council agreed to send the letter and contact the RCMP about the issue, suggesting that it make extra runs in the area to monitor the situation.
