NEW GLASGOW – While students stuff their book bags full of binders and coloured pencils, teachers are preparing to start classes again too.
New Glasgow Junior High School was buzzing with activity Tuesday as staff met to go over plans for the first week.
“It’s very busy. It’s been a lot of work packed into a few short hours,” teacher Jill Fraser said.
Teachers and educational assistants spent time in their newly waxed classrooms to prep for the start-up days later this week.
They still had lots of schedule planning and organizing left to do before school gets into full swing.
Fraser had a few tips to make the transition easier for students.
She advised children to get involved in all the activities they can in order to meet people.
“Make the most of your year,” she said.
Going to bed early, a good breakfast and a solid routine are all good ideas, Fraser said.
School kicks off on Thursday.
