NEW GLASGOW – CAO Lisa MacDonald expressed frustration at Tuesday night’s New Glasgow council meeting over municipalities that hadn’t approved funding for outstanding projects in Pictou County.
One of the projects stuck in limbo is the purchase of a new tow and transport vehicle for the Pictou County Search and Rescue team.
It wasn’t clear what would happen if the projects weren’t approved, but MacDonald wanted to make sure other towns wouldn’t have to pick up the slack.
“I don’t think the other municipal units should be put into a position to pay more,” she said.
The Construction Engineering Flight in Pictou is also waiting on support from two municipalities. The project is a cost-share agreement between all six municipalities for $1,150 each to cover board expenses.
Funding for a national conference at the Museum of Industry was one of the projects on hold, but MacDonald received word the conference was cancelled by the organizers Wednesday afternoon.
MacDonald didn’t name the municipalities holding up the process.
