PICTOU COUNTY – Trails enthusiasts now have an easier way to access much-needed funding to build, fix, and promote their favourite Pictou County Trails.
New funding for Pictou County trails as the trails association introduces Trails for Life small grants program.
The members of Pictou County Trails Association, a passionate group of volunteers from across the county who are dedicated to building and caring for Pictou County’s excellent trail systems, are pleased to unveil the Trails for Life small grants program. The program was developed to encourage and support trails development and maintenance in all areas of the county, and to make funds more readily available during the times of year when trail work is possible.
“We are very pleased to announce this program.” Says PCTA president Clifford MacDonald, “It will mean a lot of good work gets done on our trails, and we’re looking forward to seeing results all over the County.” The program is made possible by a three-year commitment of funds to the PCTA by the Municipality of Pictou County.
Eligible groups can access up to 50 per cent of their project budget from the Trails for Life Fund, up to a maximum amount of $3000.00, and multiple applications can be made within the same year, provided previous projects are complete.
