All the First Nation Schools in Nova Scotia recently gathered via Video Conference for Nitap Day, and enjoyed a day of friendship activities to unite against bullying. Nitap is friend in Mi'kmaw. Each school 'hosted' an activity via video conference, and then everyone took part at their own site. Students were addressed by many of the chiefs. Pictou Landing First Nation Chief Andrea Paul spoke to students in Pictou Landing about the problem of bullying and how we can all work together to stand up and speak out against bullying. Some of the activities were face painting, a friendship walk in the community, listening to the story "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?", a friendship cheer, and a human knot activity, where everyone holds hands and uses communication and cooperation to untangle themselves without letting go of hands.
