New Glasgow council voted against a request from Wayne Harris to rent the John Brother MacDonald Stadium for storage at a committee meeting Tuesday.
They received a verbal request from Harris to store some items at the stadium.
The request started discussion between council members about what they plan to do with the stadium.
“What are your long-term intentions with the building?” CAO Lisa MacDonald asked council. She said renting it out for storage could limit the town’s access to it.
Mayor Barrie MacMillan said it’s “premature” to make any decisions about whether they’ll opening up the building for rental or whether they’ll be looking into redevelopment options.
